The Education of Charlie Banks 2007

The Education of Charlie Banks is an independent picture filmed in New York City, Providence, Rhode Island, and Middletown, Rhode Island. The film is directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst and co-stars Jesse Eisenberg,

Jason Ritter, Eva Amurri, Chris Marquette, Sebastian Stan and Gloria Votsis. It had its world premiere at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival, which took place in New York City from April 25, 2007 to May 6, 2007. There, it won the Made in NY Narrative Award, given to the best narrative film made in New York.

Plot: The Education of Charlie Banks is a coming of age tale that spans from the playgrounds of lower Manhattan to the idyllic greens of a fictional liberal arts college in upstate New York (originally conceived as Vassar College but renamed to avoid referential controversy). Set during the eighties, it is a story about change, inevitability, and ultimately, about facing one’s fears.
Theatrical and DVD release
Indie studio Anchor Bay Entertainment announced that it has acquired rights to release The Education of Charlie Banks in theaters and on DVD throughout North America. The theatrical release for the film is expected to be on March 27, 2009.
